The popular Disney+ What If…? animated series introduced fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a whole new possibility of characters (not to mention paying homage to the classic What If…? comic book series), so it’s not surprising that we’re seeing a slew of tie-in collectibles. Enter Hot Toys What If Marvel action figures, which offer their own incredible 1:6 scale versions of these unique new characters.
What If… Zombie Hunter Spidey
Featuring an alternate version of Spider-Man who dons Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation to battle his way through a zombie infested world, this particular Hot Toys What If figure comes with a newly crafted masked head sculpt that features multiple interchangeable eyepieces to give Spidey different combinations of expressions. As with other Hot Toys Spider-Man figures, this version also features a number of interchangeable hands, assorted web effect accessories and a dynamic figure stand. It’s currently available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles.
What If… Steve Rogers & The Hydra Stomper
In this alternate version based on the show, Steve Rogers never becomes Captain America but still manages to pack a wallop thanks to a towering Hydra Stomper suit powered by Stark technology. The Hydra Stomper suit in particular (which you can also buy separately) includes a ton of detail, including some impressive paint work, built-in thrusters and a cockpit that opens and closes. The Hydra Stomper itself stands over 22-inches tall and features LED lights in in the eyes and chest. The accompanying Steve Rogers figure also perfectly captures the look and feel of the animated series and includes a new head sculpt, a selection of interchangeable hands and a standard “What If…?” branded display base. It’s currently available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles.
What If… Captain Carter
In this version based on the animated series, it’s Peggy Carter, rather than Steve Rogers, who becomes the First Avenger after an ambush in the lab results in her injecting the Super Soldier serum and becoming the Hydra-bashing Captain Carter. The 1:6 scale action figure features a newly developed head sculpt, red, blue, and white outfit as well as Captain Carter’s signature shield, pistol, and figure stand. It’s also currently available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles.
What If… Infinity Ultron
In Episode 8 of What If…?, Ultron not only succeeds in merging with Vision, but also gains the power of Infinity Stones after Thanos arrives on Earth. Ultron then sets out into space with the goal of – what else? – wiping out all organic life from the universe. This particular diecast figure stands over 15 inches tall and features a newly developed helmeted head sculpt with LED light-up functionality on the eyes and Infinity Stones. It also includes a new a highly-detailed helmet with LED light-up functionality and magnetic flip-up design. Finally, the figures includes multiple layers of titanium grey and matted gold armor, a double-headed spear and a standard Hot Toys figure stand. This figure is currently available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles.
Final Thoughts
These four figures look absolutely incredible and really do an amazing job of capturing just what made the Disney+ show so awesome in the first place. All of which begs the question: What if we don’t buy at least one of these Hot Toys What If… action figures? Nah. That’s a possibility even the Watcher wouldn’t want to consider.
