When it comes to high-end statues from the world of comic books, film, television and pop culture, there are few names bigger than Sideshow Collectibles. Yet given the cost of these items – particularly when it comes to shipping – the question often comes up: Is Sideshow Collectibles reliable?
The short answer is yes: Sideshow Collectibles is a reliable company and if you are thinking of purchasing from them directly, you can do so without any real worry. In fact, despite a few negative comments and reviews online, the company maintains a solid reputation. Below are my reasons why I think that Sideshow remains a solid company to deal with.
Four Reasons We Feel Sideshow is Reliable
1. Reliable Shipping
While there’s no doubt that the cost of shipping a Sideshow Statue can be incredibly expensive (running a hundred dollars or more for larger items), Sideshow actually has a fairly reliable shipping policy (which you can check out on their website). In my experience, issues may crop up in terms of lost or damaged packages, but the company does deal with them fairly and the items typically arrive on time and without any issues. It’s also worth noting that Sideshow does ship outside the US, so the experience may be different, but I’ve yet to have any issues with the items I’ve ordered from them directly.
2. A Decent Return Policy
Returns can always be tricky when it comes to buying online, but in the case of Sideshow they actually have a very solid recent policy (something which I’ve deal with firsthand on several occasions). You can check out their return policy for all the details, which handles damaged items or even items which you may no longer want, but the end result is a very reliable return program, in my opinion.
3. Flexible Payment Options
One of the most appealing aspects of buying from Sideshow is their flexible layaway options. This allows you to purchase a statue or figure in instalments rather than dropping a ton of cash up front (I’ve personally taken advantage of this program and thought it was solid). You may be able to find cheaper versions of Sideshow Statutes, but the ability to use layaway is a big plus. Their processing and shipping from this program is also very reliable and I had no issues using it.
4. Positive Customer Reviews
If you’re looking for further proof that Sideshow is indeed reliable when it comes to shipping, returns and payments, then look no further than online reviews. While there are a few negative comments here and there, the majority of reviews are quite positive.

So is Sideshow Collectibles reliable? In my view (and from personal experience buying quite a few statues from them) the answer is very much yes. They have solid shipping, returns and payment programs and have a decent reputation online. If you’re thinking of purchasing a statue or figure directly from Sideshow it’ll likely be a smooth and reliable experience.
