In this list, however, we’re looking purely at the best Daredevil comic covers of all time. In other words, these issues were selected based only on their cover art and not because they feature a key moment in the history of Daredevil (although that being said, we have included details on why certain books are considered keys). Daredevil #7

- Why It’s a Key: 1st appearance of the red Daredevil suit
- Why We Picked It: In addition to being the very first appearance of the now iconic red Daredevil suit (which prior to this issue was still yellow) this book also features an incredible cover featuring the Man without Fearing going toe-to-toe with Namor himself. The end result is a DD book that remains a classic comic book cover.
Daredevil #16

- Why It’s a Key: First artwork on Spider-Man by John Romita Sr.
- Why We Picked It: While legendary Marvel comic book artist John Romita Sr. is perhaps best known for his work on Spider-Man (and for co-creating the Punisher and Wolverine) his first crack at the old Wall Crawler actually occurred in this issue of Daredevil. The result is a cover that remains a true classic of a comic book master at work (in addition to being in the running as one of the best Spider-Man comic covers of all time).
