If you’re an Iron Man fan, this latest Hot Toys news will definitely have your arc reactors humming. That’s because the company just announced that they’ll be re-releasing their popular (and now incredibly hard to come by) Iron Man Neon Tech figure.
If you’re not familiar with this particular sixth-scale figure, it was actually first released by Hot Toys as a New York Comic-Con exclusive way back in 2018 and was quickly scooped up by fans. (Not to be confused with the Hot Toys Iron Man Neon Tech 4.0, which we’ve previously reviewed).
This latest 2023 reissue, however, is more than just slapping on a fresh coat of paint on an old sculpt. Instead, it will also feature a Neon Tech version of the Iron Man’s infamous suit up gantry; the series of computer-controleld mechanical arms that helped Tony Stark don his legendary armor and which were first featured in Iron Man 2.
The rereleased diecast metal figure will stand at a hefty 12.6″ tall, with 30 points of articulation. The paint work once again has a major “Tron” vibe going for it, with the all-black armor accented by neon blue lights with a ton of built-in LED functionality and a special paint that actually lights up under certain specialized lights that are included.
The figure also features an assortment of interchangeable hands, multiple swap out armor pieces and a new display base. A special bonus version (which unfortunately is only available in Hot Toys flagship Shangai store location) will also include an added translucent mask and armored chest piece.
The figure is due for sometime in early 2023, and while pricing and pre-orders haven’t been revealed yet, you may want to keep a close eye on the Sideshow Collectibles website, since they’re the official North American and European distributor of Hot Toys.
